Natural Bridge

Subject is a 28 year old army infantryman and subject in the Ertl Introduction video. Subject lost his leg below the knee in a land mine explosion 4-5 years ago in Afghanistan.

The Army surgeon refused to authorize a Ertl procedure. In spite of not receiving the Ertl Procedure bridge, you can see from the x-rays how the fibula and tibia are attempting to grow toward each other to form a natural bridge much the same the way the Ertl procedure helps along nature's course of healing itself by initiating a bridge via bone graft.

The dramatic regeneration (natural bridging) of the tibia and fibula, further induced rapid bone growth by Matt bearing weight on his stump to the bottom of his prosthesis (wolf tooth regeneration) in spite of tremendous pain.

X-Rays were provided by Raymond Francis LP of Ohio Willow Wood
