Dr. Ertl attended Chicago Medical School and completed residency at Creighton University and the University Of Illinois College of Medicine. He then continued on to complete an Osteomyoplastic Amputation Preceptorship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He gained certification by the American Board of Surgery in 2000. His background as a private practice physician with academic involvement at the University of Connecticut led Dr. Ertl to join the faculty at WMED in 2008, where he currently is an Associate Professor of Surgery. Amputee care has been part of his professional training and family life since he can remember.
